Assessment
Units 1 -4
Each unit will be assessed by a three hour unseen written paper comprising two sections A and B. Section A will comprise eight compulsory short answer questions designed to test candidates knowledge and understanding of concepts and terminology. Section B will comprise a choice of three questions from five designed to assess the candidates appreciation of the principles of professional administration. A question will be set from each of the four areas of the Learning Syllabus.
Case Study
No materials/notes can be taken into the examination (except as permitted in the iam's general regulations for examinations). The paper will be of three hours duration. The scenario is part of the summative assessment and no correspondence will be entered into on its content form either students or centres/tutors. Alternatively the student may submit a Project Report in exactly the same way as at present and subject to the established iam regulations
Project Report
In the first instance, the Project Report will be internally assessed and moderated by the centre. The Project Report will then be submitted to the iam for moderation and the award of the final mark. The Report should be not less than 3,000 - 4000 words.
