About the iam Diploma in Administration for Executive Assistants (DAEA)
If you are a senior secretary or executive assistant, this qualification's just for you. The iam's DAEA has been specifically designed to meet the demands of organisations requiring flexibility (adaptability to changing ways of working), and the exercise of good judgement (to represent and make appropriate decisions on behalf of the executive), as well as professional organisational and communication skills.
This Diploma, recognised at Level 4 on the National Qualifications Framework, provides you with a quality assured and internationally recognised award in the area of executive support and administration. It enables you to extend and update your knowledge in a rapidly changing business environment, and to develop your competence, confidence and effectiveness in the area of executive support and administration.
Entry Criteria
Prior Certificated or Experiential Learning such as:

iam Certificate in Administrative Management Level 3 or
-
LCCI Private Secretary's Diploma or Diploma in Business Administration (Level 3)or

NVQ Level 3 Business Administration / GCSE / O Level or
-
Equivalent qualifications or experience/appropriate level of responsibility demonstrating the ability to successfully complete the award.
Programme Aim
The programme aims to make candidates

Understand the role of the Executive Assistant/Administrator in relation to the needs and expectations of senior managers and executives

Function with competence, flexibility and confidence in a range of contexts, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of senior managers and executives
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding required for effective executive support and administration, appropriate to Level 4 of the Council for Administration standards.

The award is made up of five units:
Unit 1: Understanding Management
Unit 2: Administration in Organisations
Unit 3: Effective Communication in Organisations
Unit 4: Administration for Executive Support
Unit 5: Case Study or Project Report: designed to be integrative and taken as a last examination entry so that all work over the past modules will be utilised to best effect.
