Some candidates choose to prepare for IAM examinations by studying as an independent candidate, with no support from a tuition centre. Please be aware that, if you are registered as an independent candidate, you will not be permitted to attend classes at, or receive tuition support towards your IAM studies from, any tuition provider. Please contact us on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you would like further information.
If you wish to undertake any IAM qualification as an independent candidate, you will need to complete the appropriate qualification registration form.
Once you have registered onto a qualification, you may enter for assessment by completing an examination registration form and returning it to the IAM, together with the full assessment fee and authorisation from an IAM-accredited tuition provider, UK embassy, consulate or High Commission, or British Council office.
You can find information on IAM-accredited tuition providers in your area on the Where to study page of our website.
For information on sitting IAM exams with the British Council, please visit the British Council website at www.britishcouncil.org.
NQF Registrations Close
Please note that as of 1 July 2011, the IAM no longer accepts new qualification registrations for any NQF qualifications from independent candidates. All IAM NQF qualifications have been superseded by our new suite of QCF qualifications. You can find full information on our QCF qualifications.
