Current Personnel
For current RAF personnel, we have recognised the following current RAF courses for the following iam qualifications:
Level 3 Certificate in Administrative Management (Student Membership)
- TMT1
Level 4 Diploma in Administrative Management (Associate Membership, AInstAM)
- TMT2
- ASOC
- SOPEC
- AMLC
For the Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma a project report is also required.
Current RAF personnel should contact Martyn Brooks at the iam, to be given the appropriate RAF contact who will provide project report guidance and have the completed report marked.
Candidates should then download the Application form below and return it to their RAF contact along with their payment and documentary proof of course completion to be forwarded to the iam. The iam will then forward certificates of achievement directly to individuals.

Former Service Personnel
Individuals who have left the RAF can also apply for retrospective academic recognition. We have recognised a range of RAF courses for iam Awards in Management Practice. Awards can be made based on courses undertaken and previous experience at the following levels:
Team Leader Award in Management Practice (Student Membership)
- Personnel who have completed the RAF General Services Training 1 / Trade Management 1 / Further Training 1 / RAF JML courses
Certificate in Management Practice (Student Membership)
- Personnel who have completed the RAF General Service Training 2 / Trade Management 2 / Further Training 2
Diploma in Management Practice (Associate Membership, AInstAM)
- Personnel who have completed the GCC and RAF WO courses
Advanced Diploma in Management Practice (Full Membership, MInstAM)
- Personnel in the Writer, Clerks and Supply Administrators trades or who have completed GCC and RAF WO courses and AMLC.

To gain retrospective academic recognition for your course, please:
1 Download and complete the application form below
2 Attach documentary evidence of your course/qualification
3 Attach the relevant sections of your PDR. Airmen are required to submit completed copies of pages 2-6-1 Personal Development Plan & 2-6-2 & 2-6-3 SWOT
4 Attach your current CV
5 Return the completed form, documentary evidence and your payment to the iam Download RAF application form
Your application will then be assessed and the relevant Award will be sent directly to you. Please note that if your application does not result in us being able to make an Award to you, an administration fee of £25 will be charged.
