iam awards

Your chance to nominate your tutor, or a fellow student, for an international iam Award

iam awards have been presented for many years, and it is now your opportunity to nominate candidates for the iam 2008 international awards. Nominations are invited from students and tutors involved in all qualifications, including the dual awards within forces and SBMs. This is your invitation to get involved so please tell us about your tutors or colleagues, today…

The Sir Joseph Burn Prize

Sir Joseph Burn KBE was the first President of the iam from 1932 – 1934 and jointly from 1934 – 1938.

This prize is awarded to the most outstanding student, as chosen by tutors and fellow students. Please nominate any student you know who – as well as achieving their qualification – have made a special effort or overcome an additional difficulty. As an example, previous winners have passed the exams in a new language, or whilst dealing with a broken leg or family problems.

The Leonard W Green Prize

Len Green was a Chief Examiner for the iam for many years and also held the position of Chairman of the Chief Examiners Committee. He was the first Editor of the iam Student Adviser publication and a Regional Education Adviser for the South East of England until he retired in May 2001.

This prize is awarded for the most outstanding iam tutor, as voted for by students of the programmes. You can nominate your course tutor, if you believe they showed particular skill in helping you with the programmes, and you feel they really helped you to pass. Many tutors work extra hours and make great efforts to encourage and develop students: you can nominate them if you felt they supported you – or a fellow student – in any way that showed an additional commitment to you and the programme.
