Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Scheme
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the process of continually updating your professional skills and knowledge throughout your working life. CPD is more than a process, it is also a philosophy and strategy for the management of change.
The Institute of Administrative Management, in common with other professional bodies, has always encouraged its members to seek to improve and develop their skills in the light of changes in social, technical and economic conditions.
The iam offers three routes for CPD.
1.
Registered Manager Status
2. Certificate in Professional Development
3. Diploma in Professional Development
1. Registered Manager Status
1 year of relevant CPD.
Completion of the above plus an annual summary submitted to the Institute.
2. Certificate in Professional Development
Two years of relevant CPD activity.
Submission of portfolio for assessment by CPD Adviser/Verifier.
3. Diploma in Professional Development
2 years relevant CPD
An oral discussion (by phone) in which the candidate demonstrates the quality of his/her learning through CPD, including how they have
related this learning to their life/job (evidence of ‘learning how to learn’ skills is important).
CPD Process
Our CPD Scheme consists of five stages. The Institute provides master copies of the relevant documentation for you to use.
