CPD Event: Abracadabra : The Magic of Words
Date & Time: Tuesday 23rd May, 6:00-8:30pm
Duration: 2 1/2 hours
Location: The Athanaeum Hotel, 116 Piccadilly, London
“Words have a power, a magic to them that can transport you to a different place; that can evoke feelings, sounds, movements and images. One word, no matter how many letters it contains, how many syllables or beats there are to it, can hold vast meaning. One word, spoken or heard, can create a wave of implications and consequences. Consequences good or bad. Implications positive or negative. Magic.” Lindsay Taylor
At this interactive session we will explore The Magic of Words. You will learn:
- To appreciate that words mean different things to different people
- How to use sensory rich words to engage your audience
- The benefit of using motivational words to achieve goals and outcomes
How to “change your label” to promote positive thinking
This event is being hosted by The Athanaeum Hotel and Galvin Restaurants and we will be joined by representatives from both. We will be served a complimentary welcome drink and a selection of delicious canapes and you will leave with a “goody” bag.
The Athenaeum Hotel is an independent, award-winning and one of a kind hotel in the heart of Mayfair, opposite tranquil Green Park. As one of London’s few family-run five-star hotels, a proudly independent spirit is still the driving force of everything they do. The hotel has undergone a recent multi-million-pound refurbishment.
Galvin at The Athenaeum is the latest restaurant from Michelin-starred London chefs Chris and Jeff Galvin. For the first time the brothers have stepped away from their trademark French-inspired menus in favour of championing Britain’s delicious homegrown produce and supporting independent farmers across the UK. An exciting array of new menus include Afternoon Tea and Private Dining, and feature a modern take on classic British dishes combined with Galvin favourites.
