our past

The iam was set up in 1915 by a progressive group of senior executives from large companies and public service organisations. Our founders were practising managers who met as a self-development group, initially in the London School of Economics. They shared best practice in administrative management and were the early pioneers of what we know today as Continuing Professional Development.
