Educational Awards
Following each examination session, answer scripts and assignments are reviewed to determine prizewinners in a number of prescribed categories:
1. The Michael Guthrie Prize
G. Michael Guthrie was Chairman of the Office Management Association from 1953 - 1956.
This prize is awarded for the Best Overall Certificate/Diploma paper (excluding Case Study 1)
2. The A J Shawcross Prize
A J Shawcross was the first iam Regional Education Adviser and Chairman of the Chief Examiners.
This prize is awarded for the Best Diploma Case Study paper.
3. The Sir Joseph Burn Prize
Sir Joseph Burn KBE was the first President of the iam from 1932 - 1934 and jointly from 1934 - 1938.
This prize is awarded for the Best Overall Advanced Diploma paper.
4. The Leonard W Green Prize
Len Green was a Chief Examiner for the iam for many years and also held the position of Chairman of the Chief Examiners Committee. He was the first Editor of the iam Student Adviser publication and a Regional Education Adviser for the South East of England until he retired in May 2001.
This prize is awarded for the Best Advanced Diploma Case Study 2 paper.
